Camp Values & Safety
Forging Character. Protecting Trust.

Built on Proven Principles
Camp Onidah is proud to partner with Life Changing Services, a gospel-based organization known for its effective programs like Sons of Helaman, Men of Moroni, and Eternal Warriors.
These programs have helped thousands of young men develop spiritual strength, emotional resilience, and personal discipline to overcome temptation, self-doubt, and life’s challenges.
Many of our leadership tools and daily practices are drawn from these trainings—including the DPAR model (Discover, Plan, Act, Reflect) and Eternal Warrior self-mastery strategies.
By combining the spirit of adventure with the structure of proven gospel tools, we give young men an unforgettable experience that strengthens them from the inside out.

our safety standards
To protect with purpose, prepare with wisdom, and lead with vigilance.
Qualified Adult Leadership
Every Trailguide is an active, temple-worthy Latter-day Saint male trained in youth mentoring and safety. All staff pass background checks and participate in a pre-camp leadership summit focused on logistics, emergency response, and gospel mentoring.
24/7 Supervision
Campers are never unsupervised. Battalion groups stay together during the day and sleep in supervised tents at night. Trailguides conduct headcounts and buddy checks regularly.
Medical & Emergency Preparedness
We carry a stocked medical kit and maintain emergency action plans reviewed by licensed professionals. All Trailguides are trained in CPR and wilderness first aid.
Technology-Free Zone
To maximize presence, awareness, connection, and spiritual sensitivity, phones and electronics are collected upon arrival and returned at week’s end. Parents receive a designated emergency contact line.
Safe Physical Activity
Whether it’s swordsmanship or smithing, all high-energy activities follow strict safety protocols. We use foam swords and controlled drills, with close Trailguide oversight. Blacksmithing is taught with real tools in carefully managed environments, and protective gear is required.
